The anti-overvoltage automation relay APP-9 is meant to protect devices and primary equipment in a nod, from permanent and temporary overvoltages. Such overvoltages may result from capacitance characteristic of a line, or de-energizing it on the opposite end. The relay is meant to identify which line is causing the overvoltage, and de-energize it with an appropriate time delay.
